                                            "Pursue excellence and success will follow"

Delhi Public School, Sector 102 A, Dwarka Expressway, Gurugram, in a special assembly conducted on 4th May 2018, felicitated its dance faculty Ms. Moonmoon Paul Roy for her endeavour to excel in her field and for being conferred upon with the KAT Edu Excellence Award 2018. Her dedication and passion for dance was hugely applauded by one and all present in the assembly. The highlight of the assembly was the mesmerizing dance performance by Ms. Roy. Her agility and expressions left the audience speechless and received a thunderous applause. The School Head Mistress, in her address, praised Ms. Roy’s perseverance & persistence and congratulated her for achieving this prestigious award. While speaking about her journey so far, she motivated the students to put their heart and soul in whatever they choose to do. She advised them to follow their passion right from the tender age and pursue it further in order to achieve excellence. She concluded by encouraging students to dream big and shine bright.

    Buddh Purnima Celebration

                                                    BUDDHA POORNIMA CELEBRATION

    ‘The mind is everything. What you think you become.’ -The Buddha

     

    The festival of Buddha Poornima was celebrated with much aplomb at Delhi Public School, Sector 102 A, Dwarka Expressway, Gurgaon.  The very important chant of ‘Buddham Sharanam Gachchami’ created a calm and placid ambience in the school premises.A serene and tranquil environment, which was aptly created by the students of classes 6 and 7, greeted the teachers and visitors at the school reception. The statue of Lord Buddha, a symbol of enlightenment, balance and inner peace, placed in a bowl of water with petals invited positive aura. Students saw the story of prince Siddhartha who renounced all the luxuries to lead an ascetic life and become Gautam Buddha, the enlightened one. They were told about the ‘Eightfold Path’ preached by the Buddha. The day witnessed students of classes 4 and 5 enthusiastically participate in classroom decoration competition on the occasion. The creative hands made colourful rangoli and lit diyas to decorate their classes. They put up great thoughts of the Buddha and his pictures on the class display board. Some students also chose to speak a few lines about his life and the positive impact that his preaching leave on one’s life.

     

    The celebration emphasized upon love, equality and non – violence and radiated compassion.

      Red Day Celebration, 2018

                                                     RED DAY                          

                      ‘Red is an Apple, Red is a cherry; Red is rose, Red is a ripe strawberry.’

      Colours are indeed the smiles of nature and red colour symbolizes enthusiasm, life and vitality.

      The Tiny tots of Delhi Public School, Dwarka Expressway Sector 102 A, celebrated ‘Red Day’ on Thursday, 26th April 2018. It was wonderful to see our little hearts bloom and blossom in diverse shades of red. The tiny tots looked bright, lively and cheerful in their red attire. A variety of activities were conducted highlighting the significance of colour red. The ‘Red Day’ celebration was a great learning experience for children as it taught them to sort and categorize objects based on colours, thereby reinforcing cognitive skill development. The students enjoyed a watermelon party and appreciated watermelon craft. It was definitely a dazzling day with innocent faces gleaming and reflecting joy, love and happiness.

                                                                        EARTH DAY

        ‘We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.’

        Earth day was celebrated at Delhi Public School, Sector 102 A, Dwarka Expressway, Gurugram on 21st April 2018 to raise awareness and appreciation about the Earth’s environment. The celebration aimed at sensitizing the students with the need to protect and preserve the bounties of nature for generations to come. It is never too early to start teaching children the importance of keeping our planet clean and learning how to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Refuse. The tiny tots from the Kindergarten, with little guidance and supervision, took part in the celebration and learned about our unique planet. Exploring the natural environment promoted curiosity and creative thinking among the students. Students from the Pre-Primary, Primary and Middle wing also got together to mark the day. They were addressed on the need to judiciously use the resources generously offered by Mother Earth. Switching off all the lights in the arena motivated the students to conserve the energy which is generated from the natural resources provided by nature. They tended the plants being nurtured by them in school and pledged to set an example by keeping their surrounding green and clean. The celebration was a reminder of the enormous responsibility to take care of Mother Earth and plant trees to enhance its life.

                                                                     Funny Day

                                  ‘Smile, it is the key that fits the lock of everybody’s heart’

          ‘Funny Day’ provides a perfect opportunity to get students smiling and encourage them to make others smile too. The day went on to become the most blissful day of spreading good will and cheer for the ‘little hearts’ of Delhi Public School, Sector 102 Dwarka Expressway.

          The sole idea of celebrating ‘Funny Day’ was to see our little Dipsonian budding and blooming with happiness and excitement which would continue for the months to come. A lively party was organized where joyful kids danced and sang merrily to celebrate and spread cheerfulness and pass on the gift of smile by showing funny faces with funny mustaches. An optimistic and vibrant environment was created which filled the students with energy and enthusiasm.
