                                                MOVIE WATCHING ACTIVITY- PRE PRIMARY

                          'Movies are a complicated collision of literature, theatre, music and all the visual arts’.

 

Movies are meant for enjoyment, excitement and a remedy for stress. DPS, Dwarka Expressway, Sec 102A, Gurugram organized a movie show ‘Finding Nemo’ on 30th November 2018 for the tiny tots of Pre-primary. The movie was an animated and educational movie which brought entertainment along with the value learning for our students. Through the movie, kids were able to learn a new vocabulary which is of great benefit in students' daily life.

                                                                   FELICITATION CEREMONY- PRE-PRIMARY GRADE

                                                            ‘A dream becomes a goal when action is taken towards its achievement’

          

        Getting awarded is the most vital and fulfilled day for a student which can be cherished in his/her entire life. Keeping this in mind and to honor the remarkable performance of our budding stars of pre-primary, the Felicitation Ceremony was held during the special assembly on 27th November 2018 at DPS, Dwarka Expressway, Sec 102A, Gurugram. Winners were awarded the certificate of excellence for the best performance on Halloween Day and Dance Competition on Purple Day. To motivate the tender hearts of kindergarten a special assembly was organized for the winners. The program concluded with the National Anthem.

                                                            NATIONAL HERITAGE WEEK CELEBRATION

                                             ‘Our heritage has been our grounding, and it has brought us peace’.

           

          Unity in diversity is one of the most conspicuous features in the people of India. Among the diversified population, a significant portion is comprised of the tribal people, the original inhabitants of the land. To generate awareness, about our Adivasi roots unique rituals, culture, beliefs & customs which are fading due to the advent of globalization DPS, Dwarka Expressway Sec 102A, Gurugram celebrated National Heritage Week from 26th – 30th November 2018 in school. Activities conducted during the week were Tribal Culture video watching, Tribal painting Book Mark making activity, Tribal picture collage-making activity and Tribal Fancy Dress Parade and Dance activity to feel the tribal culture in real. Great and unique learning happened during the week.

                                                      GURU NANAK JAYANTI ASSEMBLY

                                                   ‘God is one, but he has innumerable forms’.

             

            Gurpurab is celebrated as the day to remember the first Sikh Guru who laid the foundation of Sikhism and is a reminder for the devotees to follow his teachings and devote their life in the selfless service of God. Keeping the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in mind students of DPS, Dwarka Expressway, Sec 102, Gurugram presented a special assembly on 22nd November 2018 to make everyone aware about Sikhism and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji through a talk show. Students performed a vibrant dance performance on a Punjabi song to celebrate this auspicious day in school. School Principal concluded the assembly with a beautiful thought that we should respect our Guru and follow his teachings in life to gain wisdom and become successful.

                                                                           EID SPECIAL ASSEMBLY

                                                  ‘Eid is much about opening our presents as well as our hearts’.

                   

                  Eid Milad un Nabi was observed by people across the country on November 20 and 21st, 2018. The festival marks the birthday of Prophet Mohammed, the founder of Islam, also believed to be a messenger of God. Secularism seeks to ensure and protect freedom of religious belief and practice for all citizens. Keeping the thought of secularism in mind students of DPS, Dwarka Expressway, Sec102A,Gurugram presented a euphonious sufi devotional musical performance during the special assembly on 20th November 2018 to celebrate Eid Festival in school. Students were made aware regarding the existence of Lord in our heart and they also learnt that serving the mankind is the only way to worship the divine.

                                                       GERMAN MUSICAL CONCERT PIANOTAINMENT

                                                             ‘You can never understand one language until you understand two’.

                     

                    To give the German Learners an exposure to the German Music culture, Music concert by “Pianotainment” was organized on behalf of the German Embassy. Grade 7 students of DPS, Dwarka Expressway, Sec 102A, Gurugram got a pronounced opportunity to attend this concert on 20th November 2018 to build interest in German language through music. Piano-duo “Stephan Weh und Marcel Dorn” from Germany as one of the top 10 entertainers with their band named “PIANOTAINMENT” presented a musical performance in German language with great enthusiasm.

                                                                 NIIT MATH-E-MAGICIAN CHALLENGE SERIES

                                                                              ‘Competitors push you to achieve more’.

                       

                      NIIT has taken a unique initiative to bring fun and excitement to learn Math subject with easiness. All students of grade 3 to 7 participated in Math-E-Magician Challenge Series at DPS, Dwarka Expressway, Sec 102A, Gurugram with great enthusiasm from 12th – 14th November 2018. Out of them, 15 participants got selected for the final Mega Quiz which was conducted on 19th November 2018 with an aim to create spirit of competition and to motivate other participants to perform better in future. The event helped students to break all myth and unknowing fear related to Math subject. Winners of the Mega Quiz event from each grade are as follows:

                                                                              PURPLE COLOUR DAY

                                                                     ‘A garden of purple is always in bloom’.

                         

                        Purple is the highest colour in the visible spectrum. This colour is known for the royalty, creativity, wisdom, peace and pride. DPS Dwarka, Expressway Sec 102A, Gurugram celebrated Purple Day in school on 16th November 2018. Students were dressed up in purple colour and created purple colour crafts with an objective of recognition of purple colour .Objects related to the purple colour were shown to them. An Inter Class Dance Programme was also organised for the budding pre-primary dancers to build up their confidence on stage. Purple Day celebration prompted the young ones to think how colour enhances and influences our lives.

                                                                                                                 HANDWRITING COMPETITION

                                                                                                    ‘Good hand writing is a sign of complete education’.

                           

                          Hand writing needs to be given importance and proper practice at right stage. To infuse such characteristics English and Hindi hand writing competition was held at DPS, Dwarka Expressway, Sec 102A, Gurugram for classes 1 to 4 on 16th November 2018. It was conducted to encourage students to develop good calligraphy and writing skills. Students took active participation by writing neatly.  They were given a paragraph to write and all of them weaved the beads of pearls by writing each letter with full concentration and effort. Educators also encouraged the students to make their good hand writing a good habit, which would always live with them and would be a mark of fine education they have got.

                                                                             SUDOKU WORKSHOP BY SYNERGY

                                                                           ‘All things are difficult before they are easy’.

                             

                            Sudoku supports in practicing our logical thinking process through solving a puzzle, and eventually improve the number skills. To provide an exposure and generate interest in solving puzzles DPS, Dwarka  expressway, Sec.  102 A, Gurugram organized a workshop with Mind Synergy on 16th November 2018 where in students  learnt effective methods to solve Sudoku. Mind Synergy team guided students of grade 5 to 7 to solve various numerical puzzles and made them practicethe the skills learned by attempting a test on the same day. Students were glad to learn the right ways to solve Sudoku and were able to overcome the fear of mathematics with ease.

                                                                       CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION

                                                                            ‘Childhood means simplicity’.

                                 

                                Children are the little angels of God and the future of mankind. The day is celebrated to pay tribute to the legendary freedom fighter popularly known as cha-cha Nehru. We all share the desire for the wellbeing of our children, which has always been and will continue to be the most universally cherished aspiration of humankind. Students of DPS, Dwarka Expressway, Sec 102A, Gurugram celebrated Children's Day with great zeal and entertainment. Pre-Primary educators enacted a value based role play, presented a beautiful dance performance and enthralled students with the funniest surprise of Charlie Chaplin act followed by a cartoon parade. Grade 1 to 7 enjoyed their dance party along with the scrumptious food. Students were dazzling in their colourful dresses and they exchanged gifts with each other to strengthen their bond of love and friendship. The class educators brought smile on their faces by distributing surprise cards to them which stated their best character to be remembered throughout the life. The day got well spent with value exchanged  along with humour.

                                                           'Let this Diwali burn all your bad times and celebrate an eco-friendly Diwali.'

                                  With Diwali round the corner, DPS, Dwarka Expressway, Sec 102A, Gurugram geared up to conduct an array of activities to celebrate the festival on 3rd and 5th November 2018. Our Dipsites celebrated the festival with full devotion, enthusiasm, and excitement. They decorated their classes, enjoyed craft activities and added charm & religious fervor to the atmosphere with their colourful ethnic dresses. The day began with a special assembly conducted by grade 5 students. Assembly included a group song, a  Bharatanatyam dance performance and a role play to create awareness regarding eco-friendly Diwali celebration. Students spoke slogans like Happy Green Diwali, Say No to Crackers and Stay Healthy & Safe. The vivacious celebration of Diwali was concluded with a dance activity for all the grades which created fun and frolic atmosphere in the school.
