Children’s Day & Guru Nanak Jayanti

is celebrated as Children’s Day in India as our first Prime Minister, Pandit
Jawahar Lal Nehru,was born on this day. It is not just a day for celebration,
but a day to remember a leader who laid the foundation to convert a nation into
a world power and a person who believed in students and their strength.
To mark the birth anniversary
of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru & Guru
Nanak Dev, Delhi Public School, Sec. 102 A, Dwarka Express way, Gurgaon
conducted a special assembly in a very unique way as this time it was the
educators who prepared & performed everything for the children. The
programme commenced with Gayatri Mantra followed by the Morning Prayer. It included
a Puppet Show on the story ‘A Monkey and the Crocodile’ , a speech on ‘Guru
Nanak Dev’ depicting his life’s incidents, a mime on the theme ‘Anekta mein
Ekta’& a mesmerising dance performance on ‘Jungle-jungle baat chali hai’.
The highlight of the
day was a parody ‘Jab Hum Budhe honge’ being sung & enacted by the primary
educators. The entire school was reverberated with the melodious harmony. The
programme came to an end with the motivational words of the Head Mistress, Ms.
Sumita Gupta, followed by the National Anthem. Thus the Children’s Day was
celebrated with great fervour in fun & frolic way.
