“We make
a living by what we get. But we make a life by what we give”- Winston Churchill.
On 12th August 2016, Friday, the young students,
parents, teachers and Management of Delhi Public School, Dwarka Expressway
celebrated the 70th Independence Day of our nation with much fun
fare by spending a day with the senior residents of an old age home.
This was a heartfelt and noble initiative to share love and
joy with the spirit of compassion. Respect for the country and respect of
elders was the underlying essence of this visit to the old age home.
Celebration and benefaction went hand in hand. The day
started with unfurling the National Flag and singing our National Anthem
followed by felicitation of our respected Directors and Sister Shelly by our
Headmistress.
Students then presented a beautiful cultural programme which
brought a smile and attracted loud applaud from all the people present on the
occasion.
We highly appreciate the overwhelming contribution of our
parents and we look forward for such continued support and cooperation in
future.
The day would live long in the memory of the children and
for the beloved elders. It will always be a day of fond remembrance.
